Catalina Guirado is the president of the Guirado Art Estate, continuing the legacy of the internationally acclaimed Spanish-Australian painter from Jaén, Andalucia Spain.
HISTORICAL ART LEGACY
Following the death of her Father in 2010, Catalina was made the sole director of the acclaimed artist’s estate and has spent the last 10 years working to rebrand the Spanish artist who was particularly significant in the 70s and 80s with works in major galleries and museums worldwide including the Reina Sofia Museum, Spain. As head of the Guirado Estate she, with a small team of art professionals, has managed every detail in the running and business strategy of the estate. From curating shows herself to overseeing the curation of exhibitions in Spain, the UK, and the US, marketing the artwork through social media and press, building relationships with the world’s top art professionals, museums, and galleries, and promoting the art and artist with cultural and educational programming. The versatility of Catalina Guirado’s professional trajectory combined with her extensive experience in the art world is the driving force behind Guirado Estate. Beyond her role as the President of the Guirado Estate, Catalina has organized and curated highly successful exhibitions such as “Out of Darkness comes Light,” held at Gallery 825 in Los Angeles, California, and the Sanctum Hotel in Soho, London, and most recently “Beyond the Landscape” at The Coral Gables Museum, FL as part of the Miami Art events. Most recently she has begun the process of creating the Guirado Foundation with the city of Jaén in Andalucia.
With works in the permanent collection of the Reina Sofia Museum, Madrid, The Museum of Malta, Museo Gilabert, Arboles, ES amongst others, over 50 solo shows over his career and 20 group shows, winner of the gold medal of the Grolla D'rollo art competition in 1975, Venice and with a string of successful exhibitions following Juan Antonio Guirado's passing in 2010, the Guirado Estate's most recent Museum & University shows in 2018 at the Coral Gables Museum, Miami (alongside Carlos Cruz-Diez), and at the University of Jaén have proven Guirado to continue to be an artist of international acclaim and interest.
