VIBE CURATED Events

Some of my favorite boutique-style art and design events that I have hosted and organized over the past years.

out of darkness comes light los angeles 2011

My first exhibition! I invested everything I had in framing my curation and was kindly loaned the space for ONE free night between exhibitions at Los Angeles Art Association, Gallery 808. I was kindly sponsored by the Spanish Consulate and Voli Vodka and had the support of my London friends who had transplanted to LA as well. The success of this event and the acknowledgment of Juan Antonio Guirado as a unique painter from the art community in Los Angeles changed my life. With a VIP guest list including Matthew Rhys and Paul McKenna, Max Beasley, Terence Howard, Lena Headey, and the Consul General of Spain.

the Clerkenwell collection gallery- Tapas & art!

This Vibe curated London event showcased how the fine art by Juan Antonio Guirado inspired the textile designs for my luxury silk scarf collection GUIRADO DESIGN. I invited Michelin star Spanish restaurant Iberica in the City of London to create tapas that complimented the Spanish wine sponsored by ThePerfectCellar.com as influencers and VIP guests mingled in the private gallery showcasing the collection of scarves and the art that influenced the designs. I was able to talk about my process whilst creating the ‘duende’ ( spirit) of Guirado Design so the guests could really understand and feel connected to the brand through all their senses.

The Karma Sanctum soho hotel - Bespoke boutique design

I was asked to create bespoke SKULL design wallpapers and furnishings for the restaurant and a private suite at the Karma Sanctum Soho Hotel in London. To launch the redesign I created a Rock N Roll themed party with VIP guests & Influencers complete with celebrity tattooist Dan Gould who tattooed guests as they drank Petrone tequila cocktails and grooved to the perfect soundtrack as DJ Amazonica hit the decks.

guirado design & saatchi showcase

For the Guirado Design ‘Apocalypse Skull’ launch AW 2014 we teamed up with Saatchi and Mark Hix’s Shoreditch restaurant/gallery the Tramshed in London to showcase the new design collection. Giant hanging banners of the cashmere scarf designs were hung in the gallery much like stage scenery to add more dimension to the space. Absynth and Absolute Vodka cocktails were sponsored by Pernod Ricard and a playlist was specially curated to create a sexy fashion-rock-focused apocalyptic mood.

Private views in the home- Hollywood hills private event

Creating an intimate atmosphere in the home is a great way to showcase art in a natural environment. This not only helps the potential collector to see how the art looks in a home it also adds a level of intimacy and exclusiveness to those that are invited. I suggest keeping private views small so you can mingle with your guests and answer questions about the art. For this event, I created a simple raw food platter and plenty of wine. Guests were also offered herbal mood enhancers to view the art and expand their minds.

Art dinners-VIP private dinner & art viewing

For the 2015 Guirado Estate exhibition at Fundacion Pons in Madrid, we invited European Society and VIPs in the Spanish art world as well as friends and patrons of the estate to a private viewing and dinner in the attic apartment above the gallery. A wonderful dinner was served by a fantastic young contemporary restaurant Seis Ocho with fine wines and Bollinger champagne sponsored by Varma. A painting by Juan Antonio Guirado was placed on an easel in the dining section and conversation was focused on the work and interest in the artist.
