DESIGNER & ARTIST
Having studied A-level fine art & textile design in London (with the thought of going on to study at art school) Catalina creates designs using art and photography as an influence. Despite not ending up at art school she has found it easy to learn digital design tools and fuses the worlds of fine art and her own photography to create textile designs as well as digital art. Catalina has also created a series of NFTs of her father’s paintings that she has digitally animated to create thought-provoking digital immersive installations and NFTs that emphasize the environmental and social consciousness behind the original visionary paintings by Juan Antonio Guirado ( 1932-2010).

Caballo Design
Fashion-focused equestrian design.
Caballo Design is a boutique equestrian sport street-style label created by Catalina after her horse Gracie passed in 2021. The limited edition designs for Caballo are created by photographing Gracie and her show Arabian horse Billie Jean SW aka ‘Farah’ to create unique designs for fashion-focused horse lovers.
Catalina creates all the designs herself photographing the horse first and then creating digital images in different colours and designs for her range of protective sports tops and loungewear accessories.
With an emphasis on safety, the brightly colored riding tops, inspired by eventing and point-to-point silks, are made from UV-protective and Moisture-Wicking fabric ( similar to rashguards) to keep the wearer safe from the elements and visible on the roads and trail. Sustainably produced, each item is printed and made to order to save on waste using recycled fabric when possible.

Guirado Legacy
Catalina reinterprets her father Juan Antonio Guirado's original paintings to create contemporary limited edition prints and designs in different mediums such as textiles, design prints, digital art & NFTs.
The Duende of Guirado Legacy
Using my understanding of textile design and art I am inspired by my late father Juan Antonio Guirado's spiritual artwork, which lends itself beautifully to fabric print and design. The art that I choose to reinterpret reflects both my and my father's interest in metaphysics and Eastern philosophy. I wish to bring these enlightening elements into people's homes as beautiful and inspirational feature wall and furnishing designs that create a feeling of serenity as well as stunning fabric prints that are a focal point when worn.
Each design inspiration compliments and resonates with the other, reflecting the universal flow of energy.
